Wallingford Regatta

The Senior Women kicked off their regatta season by making the trip down to Dorney for Wallingford Regatta.

Described by the pundits as an “Unusual but Welcome” entry into Wallingford by mixing it up against some of the southern clubs, our women’s eight had a solid race against some of the top domestic programmes coming 3rd in their heat of Women’s Club Eights.

Our women’s coxed four had a more interesting heat, the crew was having a great race until a crew in the neighbouring lane decided to steer into our lane for a game of bumps! Sadly the collision cost the crew some time after having to restart but they kept their composure and finished strong.

Full credit to the crew for keeping calm and getting back into the fight.

Overall a really good day for the Women’s Squad, a great early season opportunity to mix it up with the big clubs, a chance to get some experience down at Dorney (for quite a few their first ever time racing at Dorney) and it gave us a great benchmark heading forward.
