JIRR, Olympic Pathway Regatta and GB U19 Trials

Regatta season officially kicked off with our juniors and PDA athletes out in force at Nottingham.

JIRR

The Junior Academy athletes were putting Team Yorkshire on the podium at the JIRR with a trio of silver medals.

The J15 4x+, J15 2x and WJ15 4+ all won silver, with a further three A Finals for the J16 8+, J16 4x and WJ16 2-, B Finals for the WJ16 4x, WJ16 8+ (composite), J16 4+ and WJ16 4-, and E Finals for the WJ15 and WJ16 1x scullers.

The Yorkshire Team rose to its highest placings in recent years, coming 3rd in the boys VL, 12th in the girls VL and overall rising to 6th in the VL.

A huge achievement for the region, and thanks to Megan and Dave for their great work organising the team this year.

Olympic Pathway Regatta

Leeds again showed its presence, with Isaac winning the u23 1x (and being the fastest male sculler overall), Jamie winning the J16 1x (and coming 2nd in J18 1x!) and Bailey coming 2nd in J16 1x.

Huge effort from all and a special thanks to Matt M for all of his efforts with the Yorkshire PDA!

U19 Trials

Alice and Liv swapped two sticks for one, and switched into the W2- event for U19 trials. A great performance from both coming 4th in the C Final - given they’ve had only a handful of outings in the pair this is a great step on for both.

Overall a fantastic weekend for the clubs juniors and ex-juniors. Huge thanks to Rob, Ciaran and all of the coaches and parents made the trip to Nottingham.
