GB Senior / U23 Trials and Beach Sprint Coupe de la Jeunesse
Our Performance Development Academy athletes were in action in Boston and in the much sunnier climates of Spain with GB Senior and U23 Trials and the first ever Beach Sprint Coupe de la Jeunesse.
In Boston, we had Isaac Morris stepping up from a successful junior international season into his first U23 trials, and he did not disappoint. Isaac came 19th overall in the singles trial, ranking 6th in U23’s and 3rd in U21’s. A fantastic start to his U23 career.
In addition it was great to see former Leeds RC members Sam Moloney coming 6th in the pairs trial and to see Emily Baker coming 47th in the women’s singles trial. A huge well done to Leeds PDA athletes Louise Brooks and Jess Symonds coming 41st and 59th in the U23 trials.
Away from Boston, Lucas Brook was representing GB in the inaugural Beach Sprint Coupe de la Jeunesse Regatta in Spain. The GB squad racing was comprised of last seasons J16 trialists who were up against seasoned U19 athletes. Lucas had a tremendous time racing in the event progressing to the final 16 in the Coastal Junior Men’s 2x event.
A huge thanks to Matt Mole for his work with the PDA athletes at Leeds including both Isaac and Lucas and to the support from the NE Beach Sprints Academy preparing Lucas to race over the last few months in Beach Sprint events.
