Leeds Rowing Club come 2nd Place at the British Rowing Club Championships

Words can’t really sum up the four days of racing at the British Rowing Club Championships so here’s some stats…

  • 19x A Finals including 2x Gold Medals, 2x Silver Medals, 4x Bronze Medals

  • 2nd in the Overall VL, 6th in the Senior VL, 3rd in the Junior VL

We won our first ever women’s senior gold medal, first ever junior (and junior women’s) gold medal, the junior boys medalled across the J14, J15, J16 and J18 age groups, we yet again medalled in the adaptive categories, and somehow having taken two full trailers and enough gazebos to house an army we didn’t lose a thing!

From the gold medals right through to the time trials, everyone who raced played their part in making this our clubs most successful British Championships ever.

This one is down to all of the athletes who raced across 42 events, doubling and tripling up in crews across the four days, to the coaches who worked non-stop to keep the crews and boats going, to the parents who ran the logistics, and to everyone who came to support and made the noise.

In particular a special mention to all of the LRC members from far and wide who answered the call (or more precisely Rob, Ciaran, and Matt’s persistent WhatsApp’s) to pull on the LRC kit once again and step up to represent Leeds. It just showed that Leeds has become more than just a club, it’s something much bigger.
