Background

Rowing is one of Britain’s most successful Olympic sports. It is a sport of two extremes. It is a terrific sport for the serious athlete wanting to push themselves to the limit and is also and a wonderful, low impact, form of exercise for health, recreation and well-being in the outdoors.

Leeds Rowing Club opened its boathouse doors to new members in May 2006 and since this time we have rapidly grown to a membership of more than forty. We are a young club which is blessed with great equipment for a new club and has a wealth of experience to draw on from a number of very experienced coaches and rowers.

The club was set up by a small group of people who are passionate about creating a place for the people of Leeds to row without the need to travel to York, Doncaster or Bradford for the opportunity.
